How Does This All Work?

How does DotComs For All work?

If you’re curious about how to purchase and customize any of our great full-website packages, or just want to know how we stack up to the competition, please read further!

At DotComs For All, we can produce high-quality, flexible websites for any business. We provide a quick turn around time, constant communication, and professional designs that will wow your customers. We do all of this while producing a great looking website at a fraction of the cost of national website companies, while providing a much more elegant, functional website than local web designers.

But, how are we able to do it?

The simple answer is that we are able to supply the demand for quality business sites with a much lower cost for labor.

Most local web designers are part-time designers, hand-coding each line in their living room during what little free time they have between a steady job, family commitments, and anything else life hands them. This is a highly inefficient system, and it requires many, many skills, that most self-taught “web designers” just don’t possess.

When designing a full, 5 page website, for instance, a web designer not only needs to decide what styling language they’ll be programming in (such as Cascading Styling Sheets or Tables), but they also need a wide range of other skills, such as a mastery of Adobe Photoshop for image manipulation, Adobe Illustrator for logo work, Dreamweaver for site layout, and more. A good web designer should also have a keen sense of design, knowing the color combinations that will compliment each other; they need to know which color combinations will clash in order to avoid them; they need to have a good eye for where to place sharp corners vs where to place softened, rounded edges. In addition to all of this, in order to get a quality, interactive web site, a web designer should also know how to design and implement changes in Adobe Flash, Javascript, JQuery, and other design languages on the internet.

These are but a few of the skills required of good web designers. As you can see, it is quite a long list of demands for your average “weekend warrior” of web design. Most local web designers tend to be proficient in hand coding HTML, and possibly know some rudimentary Photoshop techniques, but is it really enough to create a beautiful, interactive design, like the ones we sell here?

The simple answer is: NO.

It’s not. Knowing HTML simply does not cut it in web design these days. In fact, if you were to code an entire site in just HTML, disregarding modern web standards like Java and Flash, you’d end up with a site that looks nearly identical to the old Web 1.0 sites of the 90’s.

So, what do we know? We’ve established that low cost local designers simply do not have the available time or skills necessary to create a modern, Web 2.0 website. It simply takes too long and requires far too many skills, not to mention the way-too-expensive software packages required to utilize all of these skills.

Because of this, your local web designers will typically offer you a “too-good-to-be-true”, bottom of the barrel price on web design; just be aware that you’re going to get a bottom of the barrel web design, as well.

But what about large, national marketing firms? How are you different from them?

Whereas many small time local web designers simply cannot afford to meet your needs, most large national firms price their services so high, that many business owners like you simply cannot afford them.

For instance, one very well-known lawyer marketing website charges a stiff fee each month, while maintaining control and total ownership of their clients’ websites. In effect, they are online slumlords, charging a high annual rate in return for a templated site that their clients never own. Much like real life landlords who over charge for a poorly maintained, crumbling unit, this lawyer marketing site charges their customers upward of $1,500+ per year for a basic 3-page site; if the customer ever stops paying for it, they lose all material, designs, domains, and associated content. How’s that for a crummy customer service policy?

Here at DotComs For All, we charge a one-time fee for a customized site. You simply pick the layout that you like, give us some details about your business, and we take care of the rest. Within 14 days, you’ll receive a shiny new custom site, with all of the bells and whistles,  for about the same cost as hiring an under-skilled local web designer.

The site is completely yours to own and do with as you please; in fact, we even have tutorials on how to update common items such as your phone number, address, and other frequently-changing items.

We hope that provides some insight into how we do things here are DotComs for all, but if you have any further questions, feel free to email us, and  we’ll respond withing 48 hours.
